My boat is a Board, have received the recommended maximum power and weight. If your Gamefisher not, of course! It should not be too great, in my opinion.
It is excellent for the size of a lake or slow-flowing water. I had a 4hp in my 24 sailings from San Juan, worked well in calm water.
Check the capacity plate on the boat, if you have one, please contact the USCG Aux. or visit the website, there is no formula for determining the size of a motorboat (L x W) engine, hand it seems, is never the "power", a boat, it runs very fast on a time and then one day, the transom and the engine overhauled.
Gamefisher the engine is a lightweight and works well as long as it carefully.
